Automated Protection of Email and Documents

Encryption solutions have been around for over a decade.  Many organizations have tried to deliver email encryption solutions to their organizations.  Unfortunately, users often do not know when to encrypt email, or may forget to do so.  In addition, encryption solutions may be too complex for the average user. Titus Labs Automated Protection solutions remove the complexity of encryption.  Via the Titus Labs' user interface, users make a simple classification selection.  These selections can be configured to automatically trigger encryption or rights management protection ensuring protection of an organization's valuable information.

Titus Labs Message Classification

  • Administrators can define policies that will automatically apply S/MIME encryption at the user desktop, based on a simple classification selection. The user does not need to know how to apply encryption, or even if it was applied.
  • Classification labels can also automatically invoke the application of Microsoft Rights Management Services (RMS) protection.  These policies can control who can read, copy, paste, print or forward email. In this case, the user does not need to understand how to apply RMS protection. For more information on integration with Microsoft RMS, click here.
  • S/MIME encryption or RMS protection can be automatically forced on certain types of messages ensuring protection of sensitive information.

Titus Labs Document Classification

  • Administrators can define policies that will automatically apply Microsoft Rights Management protection to Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents based on a user selected classification. These policies can control who can read, copy, paste, print or modify the documents.
  • RMS protection can be forced on certain types of documents ensuring protection of sensitive Office documents.

Dow Corning Uses Classification Labels to Help Protect Intellectual Property
As part of an overall IP protection program, Dow Corning turned to Titus Labs Message Classification™ and Document Classification™ software. The end result was a consistent standard system for classifying content into categories such as Confidential, or Internal Only, and specifies how content must be handled. Labeling all emails and documents helps to protect intellectual property, improve records management and enforce corporate policy.
